The biggest difference in working for a small/medium-size firm and a corporation is the need of GOALS. I had never had to plan any goals for my career during my tenure at Wilshire. Coming to E&Y changed all that. Every year we have to set a personal development and educational goals for ourselves. Management, of course, would have goals for my position and our team. Half way through the fiscal year, we have to access our goal achievement process. I must say, it a darn big pain in the behind! This is probably one of the few things I hate about in a corporate environment. Nothing can be done without any involvement of politics!

Needless to say, this new position I have taken upon myself has a big shoe to fill. The previous person made National-wide impact changes and for me to exceed her achievement is quite a challenge. One of the team goals my management gave me is to identify three significant changes we can apply to improve the Northeast Onboarding Process. I am just... blanked!

Image of my Goal submission homepage. Yes.. I have not completed my goal submission yet.. darn it!
